The Steamer in all its glory.

Well I got there at last. i am still tinkering, adding bits and bobs here and there but on the whole it is done. The wheels and tyres have been given a make over to make them look much more realistic and will soon be fitted with bearings so when the vehicle moves the wheels will go round. The motors fitted are only 300w and were only ever designed to manoeuvre the vehicle around to help place it at events. What I am seriously considering is seeing if I can get this thing moving properly. The weight will still be supported on the quad wheels underneath so the big foam wheels do not have to take any weight. To stop them getting damaged the bearings will allow them to rotate and swing arms which are already fitted will allow the foam tyres to move up and down.
There are two options, electric and gas. A VW Beatle chassis with the body lowered on or much bigger 1000w motors and keep the whole vehicle RC.

Some updates on the Steamer

The Steamer has had a few extras added, new radiators and I have added a few bits and bobs giving it a more Steampunk look.

The Steamer is now complete

There are a few minor bits and bobs to sort out with the interior plus I am still waiting on some parts. The exterior is now finished.  I have decided to add a power system which will help move the build around at events. This will take the form of two large electric motors attached to the back wheels. They will provide propulsion and stealing.

Getting close to final completion

Loads of work has been done on the Steamer Batmobile over the last two weeks. The engine bay is nearly there as is the interior. Loads of extra exterior metal work has been added and the spoilers completed at last.

A few weeks to go

I am currently working on the exterior. adding all the fine details but given the progress there should be only a few more weeks work and I will be done. It will be all the fine details that will ultimately define this build and give it its unique Steampunk look.
I still need to do much more work on the engine and that will be the next task. Once the exterior is complete then work will start on the interior and the hundreds of LED's that need to be fitted plus work on the animatronic Batman.

Getting there

Exterior is nearly completed on the Steamer Batmobile with only a few details needed to be added.
Electrics are now going in and the headlight and red internal LED lighting has been fitted. Sound system is partially fitted but a few more speakers are still needed. Camera system is fitted and working.Underbid lighting is on and will be working soon. Side, vent and rear lighting is fitted but needs wiring up.
Plan for he next week is
1. Complete the wiring and all the LED lighting
2.Build the smoke generator for the engine.
3. Get the animatronic batman looking real.
4.Fit water cannons to front

External body work almost complete

Lots of work has been completed on the external bodywork with lots of detailing being added.
There is still a bit more metal work to add and the rear wheels need some work on then but on the whole the overall look is getting there.
